66-Year-Old Villa Man Shot; Mount Joy Suspect Surrenders to Police

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT IN MOUNT JOY; SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
Police are investigating a shooting incident that left a 66-year-old Villa resident nursing a gunshot injury on Monday evening.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, July 13, a 40-year-old man of Mount Joy went to the Parham Police Station and reported that he was involved in a shooting incident.
The man was subsequently taken into custody, along with a firearm.
The victim was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre with a single gunshot wound to the right side of his chest.
He remains in stable condition and is receiving medical treatment.
The suspect remains in police custody on suspicion of Shooting with Intent, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
The police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact the Parham Police Station at 463-2060, the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/3914, or Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
