Shoy Granted Bail After Murder Case Dismissed

Jahciba Shoy, 27, has been granted bail after the High Court dismissed murder, aggravated robbery and manslaughter charges against him in the 2023 fatal robbery at Pick ‘N Mix Mart that claimed the life of businessman Roudi Shmaly.
Justice John Spencer upheld a no-case submission, finding the prosecution had not presented enough evidence for the matter to go before a jury. Although prosecutors indicated they would appeal, the court granted Shoy bail pending the appeal.
Bail was set at a $10,000 bond with two sureties and no cash deposit. The prosecution’s case had relied mainly on surveillance footage showing Shoy walking with the eventual gunman before the robbery and evidence linking him to a shoulder bag similar to one later seen with the teenage shooter.
