New charges have been filed against Superintendent of Police Ray John and his former partner Shakema Charles in connection with the passport scam they were allegedly involved in.

They were initially cleared of all charges earlier this month, but were recharged and brought to court shortly after.

The new charges accuse them of conspiring with Vincentian resident Lonzel Jones to create fake passport bio pages using unauthorized Multi-Layered Infilling Sheets.

Defense attorneys Hugh Marshall and Michael Archibald represented the defendants, who maintained their innocence and made unsuccessful attempts to have the case dismissed before eventually succeeding with their second application.
