During a courtesy call on Minister of Sports and Creative Industries Dwayne George on Tuesday, international fashion model Samory Christopher expressed a desire to serve as a Creative Ambassador on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda.

Christopher, who is domiciled in New York City, has walked the runway of New York Fashion Week for a number of international brands as he continues to build his portfolio.

As the only male Antiguan and Barbudan national currently making his mark in the fashion industry abroad, while being the country’s standard bearer, Christopher told Minister George it will be an honour if his request is given consideration and approval.

The Minister of Sports and Creative Industries applauded Samory on his accomplishments thus far, noting, “anyone who wishes to use their work and platform to promote Antigua and Barbuda is an ambassador in their own right”.

He informed him that his request to become a Creative Ambassador must be tabled and discussed at the Cabinet level before any decision is made.

Minister Dwayne George assured Mr. Christopher that this will be advanced at the earliest opportunity and extended best wishes to him in his future endeavours.

Samory Christopher departed Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday after participating in Carnival festivities.
