Defreitas, Richards Remanded to Prison Until October Over Bus Station Shooting

Kajouni Defreitas and Royli Richards will remain behind bars after appearing in court Tuesday on charges arising from the West Bus Station shooting that injured three men.
Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emmanuel remanded Defreitas, 19, of Ottos, and Richards, 18, of Golden Grove. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 7, when the case will come up for case management.
Police allege the pair shot Jahlani Barzey and Josh Thomas, both of Villa, and Dejohntea Meade of Seatons during the Aug. 6 incident.
They are jointly accused of shooting with intent to murder and using a firearm in furtherance of an offense.
Two of the injured men were still receiving hospital treatment, but their conditions were listed as stable.
