From Song To Service: “Wadadli Superhero” Launches New Community Outreach Initiative

What began as a Jumpy Soca song is now expanding into a platform for service, humanitarian action and community impact.

The Wadadli Superhero Community Outreach Initiative will officially launch on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with its inaugural Drinking Water Distribution Project, marking the beginning of an initiative focused on encouraging service and positive community action in Antigua and Barbuda and beyond.

The initiative was founded by singer, humanitarian and community advocate Peetron Thomas, who is bringing together two important aspects of his work — his music and his commitment to humanitarian service.

The initiative is connected to Peetron’s Jumpy Soca song, “Wadadli Superhero,” which he is now using as a platform to extend his work beyond music and into community outreach.

The song was performed during Peetron’s appearance in the 2026 Party Monarch semifinals, an opportunity for which he says he remains truly grateful. The experience further motivated him to bring together his passion for music and his commitment to humanitarian service.

Thomas says the development of the Wadadli Superhero Community Outreach Initiative represents an opportunity to use his music platform as a vehicle for positive action, while expanding his humanitarian work into a structured community service initiative.

Rather than allowing “Wadadli Superhero” to exist solely as a musical production, Thomas is seeking to use the platform surrounding the song to encourage volunteerism, service and meaningful community impact in Antigua and Barbuda and, eventually, beyond.

The initiative also connects with the educational and cultural programming of the WORK FU UM Summer Camp, where the concept of the superhero is being used to highlight individuals who have contributed to Antigua and Barbuda in meaningful ways.

The camp is featuring a range of cultural and national heroes and icons, helping students learn about the people whose contributions have helped shape the country.

Among those being highlighted is Sir Vere Cornwall Bird (Papa Bird), who was recently featured as a superhero through History lesson and a specially created coloring page of him for the camper’s artwork. 

Other Antiguan cultural and national figures being recognized include Vaughn Walters, Claudette Peters, Tian Winter, King Short Shirt, King Obstinate, Heather Doram, Lola Kirby, Drastic and Biig Dog, among many others.

Through these activities, students are being encouraged to understand that a superhero does not only exist in comic books. Heroes can also be found among the people who use their talents, courage, creativity and dedication to make a difference in Antigua and Barbuda.

The superhero concept is therefore being used to connect culture, history, education, service and national pride, while encouraging students to recognize the qualities that make someone a hero.

That focus on service now extends directly into the community outreach initiative.

For its inaugural project, volunteers will participate in the Drinking Water Distribution Project, providing drinking water to members of the community.

Students participating in the WORK FU UM Summer Camp will also take part as volunteer service members during the launch, giving them firsthand experience in teamwork, compassion, volunteerism and community service.

The initiative is intended to create opportunities for people, particularly young people, to move from learning about service to actually putting it into practice.

Thomas says the goal is to use the reach of his music and the identity of Wadadli Superhero to encourage people to become active participants in creating positive change.

The official launch and presentation will take place at the National Public Library balcony on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11 a.m.

Through the Wadadli Superhero Community Outreach Initiative, Thomas hopes to encourage people to look beyond the traditional image of a superhero.

For him, being a superhero is not necessarily about having extraordinary abilities. It is about recognizing the ability within each person to help, inspire and create positive change.

With its roots firmly planted in Antigua and Barbuda, the initiative is envisioned as something that can grow beyond the island and eventually reach communities elsewhere.

The launch therefore represents more than the beginning of another community project. It represents the coming together of music, humanitarian service, youth development, culture and community action under one initiative.

“Wadadli Superhero” is taking its next step — from the stage into service, with a vision for impact in Antigua and beyond.
