Another shooting is being investigated by the Police after two people sustained gunshot injuries on Parliament Drive on Sunday night, June 2. Reports say the men, aged 23 and 56 years old, drove to the hospital, where an Emergency Room doctor notified the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) about the incident. The men allege that, at about 8 p.m., they were driving from south to north on Parliament Drive in the vicinity of the former House of Culture.

Reportedly, the younger man, an Ottos resident, was seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, a Kia Sportage, when they heard a loud explosion. He then felt a sharp pain in his right hand and realized he had been shot. It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle, a Pigotts resident, was injured by that same bullet, which grazed his chest. When he heard the passenger exclaim that he had been shot in the hand, he reportedly turned the vehicle around and drove to the hospital – located just yards away from the scene – for medical attention.

Both men were in stable condition when they arrived. Apparently, the bullet had gone through the right front door glass and officers were able to recover it from the floor, on the left of the driver’s seat.

The vehicle reportedly was processed by the Forensic and Evidence Recovery Unit(FERU). Officers carried out a search in the surrounding areas for any suspicious persons but without success.
