Woman Alleges Police Beating at Ffryes Beach After Sound System Dispute

Source- Real News Antigua: A woman is claiming to have been beaten by officers atFfryes Beach.

According to reports, a young woman unplugged the cord on asound system that was playing music at the popular beach and wasconfronted by a man.

When the two began to fight, aconstable who was on the beach saw the commotion and tried tointervene.

He later telephoned the Bolans Police Station andreported that a fight was in progress.

Apparently, as a result of the fight, the Liberta man who wasinvolved sustained a small laceration under his left eye.

However, he could not say who had inflicted it.

Meanwhile, the Hatton woman told the investigating officer that shehad been beaten about the body by police officers.

Both parties reportedly were issued with police medical forms toconsult a doctor.

Meanwhile, a corporal has given instructions to two junior officers,constables, to report to the Johnsons Point Police Station on thewoman’s allegations that she had been beaten.

This incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, March 24, at about5:45 p.m.
