CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUPAccording to reports, a 27-year-old man has been remanded to His Majesty’sPrison for sexually assaulting an underaged girl.
The Police had arrested and charged the man with one count of unlawfulsexual intercourse and one count of serious indecency.
These acts are alleged to have been committed on April 5 this year.
However, it is further allegedthat the accused has similar charges pending in the High Court. During his first court appearance for this most recent offence, he was refusedbail, and the magistrate ordered that he be remanded because of his prioroffences.
His committal proceedings are set for September 3.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was also placed on remand at His Majesty’sPrison on charges of sexually violating a 14-year-old girl.
The Police charged the man with three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse,alleged to have taken place between May 6 and 11 at a location on the westernside of the island.
Apparently, the alleged perpetrator’s proximity to the victim, as well as hersafety, was a factor in the court’s decision to deny bail, and the magistrateordered that the man be remanded.
Committal proceedings are set for September 3.
