Trade Unions Conclude Workshop on Preventing Workplace Violence and Harassment

Representatives from several trade unions and special interest groups in Antigua and Barbuda have concluded a three-day workshop focused on implementing the principles of International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work.
The workshop was facilitated by Public Services International (PSI) and the FNV Rainbow Network and sought to strengthen efforts to advance the rights of LGBTIQA+ workers within public services unions across the Caribbean.
Participants engaged in discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions and collaborative activities aimed at identifying practical strategies to prevent violence and harassment in the workplace.
According to the Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union, the programme also emphasized creating work environments where all employees are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or identity.
The workshop brought together representatives from several trade unions and special interest groups as part of broader regional efforts to promote fairness, equality, inclusion and decent work throughout the Caribbean.
