The St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School receives a Peace Shelf donated by the Rotary Club of Antigua
St. John’s, Antigua- Tuesday 16th April 2024: The St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School is the latest beneficiary of a Peace Shelf donated by the Rotary Club of Antigua.
The “Peace Shelf”, which is located in the school’s library, features a number of books, which inspire the idea of peace and a tranquil environment.
In making the presentation of behalf of the Club, President Michael Spencer, explained that Rotary Clubs across the world are playing a critical role in educating persons about the importance of fostering, promoting maintaining peace.
“We are very fortunate in Antigua and Barbuda to have peaceful environs because I am sure that as students you have learned about countries where there are political tensions and conflicts. I want to encourage you as students to read these books and focus on ways to maintain a peaceful and calm environment in your day too day life. You are never too old to make a difference”, President Michael encouraged.
The school’s Principal, Juielta Samuel thanked the Club for the symbolic donation and assured that the students will be encouraged to make good use of the books.
‘The books donated by the Rotary Club of Antigua will go a long way. I am happy that our students will be even more enriched with knowledge because the more you rea, the more successfully you become and the more that you are able to understand life on a whole. Thank you so much to the Rotary Club of Antigua for this”, she expressed.
