Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sir Gerald Watt QC, extended his congratulations to Jamale Pringle, the newly elected leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP).

During a session in Parliament today, Sir Gerald humorously remarked to Pringle, “I wish you well. You are now undefeated,” eliciting applause and laughter from MPs across the chamber.
In April, Pringle won the leadership position over Richard Lewis, leading the country’s main opposition party.
Adding a light-hearted note, Sir Gerald jokingly expressed hope that Pringle’s new role would lead to better behavior in Parliament, a comment that also drew laughter from Pringle himself.
