Significant progress has been made on Phase One of the preparatory work for the new public cemetery at Tomlinson’s, a joint initiative of the health and works ministries.

Minister Maria Bird-Browne updated on Facebook, sharing workers installing the perimeter fence.

The work is ongoing seven days a week, aiming for swift completion. Sen. Rawdon Turner, Executive Chairman of the National Housing and Urban Renewal and Development Company, highlighted the interior roads’ development, along with plans for parking, a manager’s office, and public bathrooms.

Solar lights will ensure 24/7 illumination, using renewable energy.

The government prioritizes timely completion due to limited burial spaces at St. John’s cemetery.
