Prime Minister Gaston Browne has voiced strong criticism against the Observer Media Group (OMG), citing concerns over censorship, biased reporting, and the violation of press freedom.

The Prime Minister’s comments come in response to an interview between Anderson Carty, Community Activist, and Dave Lester Payne on Observer Radio.

“The video below was sent to me,” Prime Minister Browne stated, referring to the interview. He expressed a growing sentiment of dissatisfaction with what he described as “OMG censorship, vitriolic rhetoric, and violation of press freedom.”

According to Browne, even newsroom staff members are facing pressures to engage in biased partisan reporting, compromising their professional integrity.

Furthermore, Browne accused the owners of OMG of lacking interest in fostering honest and enlightened discourse.

Instead, he alleges that their primary agenda is to promote hatred and envy among their hardcore supporters and unsuspecting electors for political gain.

“This is an abuse of power,” Browne emphasized, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect broader concerns about media ethics and the role of media organizations in promoting fair and balanced reporting.
