The Prime Minister envisions a future where self-driving cars will navigate specially designed lanes, marking a significant leap towards a high-tech transformation for the island.
During a recent trip to China, Prime Minister Brown was inspired by the innovative technologies he witnessed, particularly in the realm of self-driving cars.
Drawing from this experience, he has proposed integrating self-driving cars into Barbuda’s roadways, introducing a dual-lane system to accommodate both traditional traffic and AI-powered unmanned vehicles.

“I believe we can achieve that in Barbuda,” the Prime Minister stated, highlighting the island’s potential as a “clean and clear canvas” for technological advancement. Under his plan, every road built on the island would be designed to accommodate at least four vehicles abreast, with two lanes reserved for unmanned vehicles, propelled by artificial intelligence.
Prime Minister Brown’s vision for Barbuda extends beyond mere transportation upgrades.
If realized, his plans could position the island at the forefront of technological advancement, enhancing connectivity and paving the way for a new era of transportation.
