A man was quickly taken to Sir Lester Medical Centre on Sunday afternoon following an alleged shooting near the Public Market in St. John’s.
Reports indicate that two men were involved in an altercation, during which one of them allegedly retrieved a firearm from his car and shot the other in the mouth.
The shooter then fled in his vehicle.
A video circulating shows the injured man with blood from his mouth, being comforted by another person. His current condition is unknown.
Shortly after, the police swiftly apprehended the suspect, who is now in custody and will undergo questioning before facing charges.
The victim is receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
