Jersey Leap Scholarship Opportunity For Antigua And Barbuda

The JCG Foundation, in collaboration with the High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda, H.E. Karen-Mae Hill, is pleased to announce the establishment of a Leadership and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Progamme (LEAP) Female Leadership Scholarship.

The scholarship will allow one deserving Antiguan and Barbudan student to attend the LEAP 2024 female leadership programme on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands.

The selected student will be accompanied to Jersey by the Deputy Director of Education Dr E. Jonah Greene, who will work closely with JCG Foundation to put in the groundwork for the establishment of a LEAP Antigua and Barbuda programme in 2025.

Dr Peter Le Masurier, the Founder of LEAP, stressed “This is a fantastic opportunity to form links between our two island nations with the focus being on our shared desire to promote, nurture and champion female leadership amongst our high school students. We very much look forward to welcoming Dr Greene to Jersey and LEAP and look forward to working with her to establish a LEAP Antigua and Barbuda in 2025. It is also our pleasure to have High Commissioner Hill as one of our key note speakers at LEAP Jersey”.

The LEAP Scholarship, which includes flights, accommodation, food, and attendance of the LEAP programme, is open to any female Antiguan and Barbudan student from 14 to 18.            The student will work with delegates from all over the world on designing, scoping and then pitching a social enterprise project to a team of investors. They will receive training on business development, social impact, entrepreneurship, and leadership from CEOs, managing directors and other experts. In addition, they will form international friendships and connections.

Details of how to apply for the scholarship can be found on the LEAP website at: jcg.je/leap

The LEAP programme develops business, entrepreneurial and leadership skills through launching social enterprise projects to target key global issues. International teams of students formulate their own ideas into a business pitch. Global experts act as coaches, mentors and guides. Finally they act as investors, ready to provide funding in a Dragon’s Den like final pitch. LEAP is considered to be one of the world’s premier female leadership programmes.
