Investigation Ongoing After Sutherlands Shooting Leaves Man Wounded in the Head

realnewsantigua.com: A probe continues into a recent shooting in Sutherlands in which a 30-year-old man was wounded in the head. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID), according to reports, wasmade aware of the incident after a 911 emergency operator reported thematter. As a result, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department, the CID TaskForce, and the Special Service Unit went on duty at the scene to conductinvestigations. Allegedly, the victim was in the vicinity of Annita’s Superette and using its Wi-Fi when a man walked up to him and fired a single shot, grazing him on theleft side of his head.  It is alleged that, in order to escape the attack, the Sutherlands man ran andhid in some bushes.

The gunman reportedly ran after him, but laterdisappeared. 

This incident is alleged to have occurred at about 11:45 p.m. on May 13.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Further reports sayhis wound was cleaned and he was kept for observation. The reported assailant was wearing a red-and-black tam and was dressed in adark-coloured shirt and coloured beach pants.  The Police carried out a search at the scene; however, no spent shells noranyone fitting the description was found.
