This clarification follows concerns expressed by the Chairperson of the Free Movement Committee about courses being offered by CICA International University Technical Centre of Excellence-City and Guilds Approved Centre located on Sir Sydney Walling Highway, specifically a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Child Psychology.

Citizens and residents are advised that only Technical and Vocational subjects are offered by City and Guilds, which lead to certification. Further, City and Guilds has advised that it offers an “Early Years Practitioner” course. However, it is not available to students outside of England.

Several people have inquired of the National Training Agency (NTA) and Antigua and Barbuda National Accreditation Board (ABNAB) about acquiring Skills Certificates with degrees (Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Child Psychology) awarded by CICA, which will likely be impossible, since the qualifications they have obtained are unrecognised in Antigua and Barbuda.

Additionally, CICA International University is not accredited by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries.
