Jamal Pringle, Leader of the United Progressive Party, has announced that Sherfield Bowen, MP for St. Phillip’s South, will be the new deputy leader.
The decision, made last night, has sparked controversy, as many expected Richard Lewis, MP for St. John’s Rural West, to be chosen.
Pringle defended his choice, praising Bowen’s wisdom, legal expertise, and professional background.
He dismissed allegations of political maneuvering, stating, “People will always speculate, but I must focus on where the party needs to go.”
