Barbuda Senator Celebrates 20 First-Time Driver’s Licence Registrations

Barbuda Records 20 First-Time Driver’s Licence Registrations
The Office of Senator Kendra Beazer says 20 residents have obtained first-time driver’s licences within the first month of the office’s operation, describing the milestone as a sign of progress and increased opportunity for Barbudans.
In a statement, the office said the achievement reflects its commitment to empowering young people and expanding access to opportunities on the island.

The office encouraged residents who are ready to obtain a driver’s licence to join the next registration group.
According to the statement, the Barbuda Council is prioritizing a proposal to construct better roads, which officials say will improve access, safety and infrastructure across the island.
“We’re calling on the Barbuda Council to prioritize our proposal to build better roads because safe, reliable infrastructure is the foundation of opportunity,” the statement said.
The office argued that development should not be delayed by hesitation and urged support for projects aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.
“Better roads mean better access to schools, healthcare, and jobs. They connect families, strengthen commerce, and build resilience,” the statement added.
The office said it remains committed to advancing its vision of moving Barbuda forward through infrastructure improvements and expanded opportunities for residents.
