CIBC Caribbean is warning customers and the public about an increase in phishing scams targeting personal banking information through phone calls, emails and social media platforms.

The bank said scammers have been using calls displaying the bank’s logo and fraudulent email addresses to trick people into sharing sensitive information.

CIBC Caribbean stressed that its representatives will never ask customers by phone, email, text or social media for PIN numbers, One-Time Verification Codes, passwords, card details or login credentials, nor request that they click suspicious links or download applications.

Customers are being urged not to engage with suspected fraudsters and to report suspicious activity immediately to the bank’s Fraud Team at [email protected].

The bank said clients who may have shared personal information should contact the bank directly using the number on the back of their ATM card.
