Antigua Cruise Port says major works are continuing on its upland waterfront development project, including the next phase of construction for a new access ramp linking key areas of St. John’s waterfront.

In an update posted Saturday, the company said foundation works are advancing for the future ramp that will provide pedestrian and electric shuttle access between Heritage Quay, Redcliffe Quay and the new upland development.

The project is intended to improve public access and connectivity along the waterfront while supporting commercial and tourism activity in the area.

The company also announced that construction has started on expanded parking facilities as work continues on the development’s Day Club pool area. APUA is currently installing underground infrastructure to support the project.

Meanwhile, contractor LICCOM has completed roofing work on four western commercial units. Attention is now shifting to the remaining eight northern units along Newgate Street.

Antigua Cruise Port said the broader project is aimed at creating “a more connected, accessible, and vibrant waterfront experience” for residents and visitors.

The development forms part of ongoing investments by Global Ports Holding at the St. John’s cruise port.
