Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic landscape witnessed a pivotal moment as Ambassador Boris Latour officially presented his credentials to Ms. Ghada Fathi Waly, Director-General/Executive Director of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the prestigious UN headquarters in Vienna.

Accompanied by a delegation that included Ambassador Colin Murdoch and Ambassador Jeff Hadeed, Ambassador Latour highlighted Antigua and Barbuda’s steadfast commitment to global cooperation. The discussions primarily focused on addressing critical issues such as crime and drug trafficking, acknowledging the nation’s vulnerability due to its geographic location.

Furthermore, Ambassador Latour explored potential partnerships with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to enhance energy and nuclear safety initiatives. The dialogue with Director-General Waly emphasized the collective efforts needed to tackle global challenges, including preparations for the upcoming Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Conference.

This significant event reaffirmed Antigua and Barbuda’s dedication to multilateralism and diplomacy in fostering global peace, security, and sustainable development.
