Antigua and Barbuda is set to open a consulate in Bangladesh later this year, as announced by Foreign Minister Chet Greene following a meeting with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud.

The focus is on enhancing cooperation in tourism and investment, sparking enthusiasm in Bangladesh.

Cricket icon Sir Vivian Richards has been invited to the consulate’s opening in Dhaka, adding prestige to the event, especially given his popularity in the region.

This initiative aims to facilitate travel and investments between the two nations. Bangladeshis interested in Antigua and Barbuda, and vice versa, will find the consulate beneficial.

Antigua and Barbuda’s government sees Bangladesh as a key partner in expanding their Asian involvement, particularly in tourism.

They’ve proposed scholarships for Bangladeshis to study tourism at the University of West Indies and a visa-free arrangement for easier travel between the two countries, fostering a stronger bond.
