The closed season for Caribbean spiny lobster is now in effect until June 30.

The Fisheries Division urges residents to refrain from lobster-related activities during this critical spawning period, emphasizing the illegality of fishing, selling, or possessing lobsters during this time.

Businesses are reminded to dispose of their lobster inventory.

Violations can be reported to the Fisheries Division or the ABDF Coast Guard, with strict confidentiality assured.

Offenders risk fines up to $50,000, as highlighted by Ian Horsford, Chief Fisheries Officer.
