The Antigua and Barbuda Chapter of Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) was launched on International Women’s Day at Tradewinds Hotel, featuring a ceremony and reception.

The event, themed “Inspire Inclusion – Count her in – Invest in Women – Accelerate progress,” began with an invocation by Reverend Denise Smith-Lewis from Cedar Hall Moravian Church. Senator Samantha Marshall, Minister of State for Social Transformation, spoke about promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for women.

WiMAC Antigua and Barbuda Chapter’s President, Shenica Sebastian, highlighted the organization’s journey to becoming a registered non-profit, joining other chapters across the Caribbean maritime sector.

This initiative aligns with the global network of Women in Maritime Associations, spanning 152 countries and territories.
