The 182-foot Dykstra S/Y Adela emerged victorious in the 2024 Superyacht Challenge Antigua after five days of racing off the south coast of Antigua. Greg Perkins, the skipper of Adela, was presented with the Gosnell Trophy by Arthur and Page Gosnell. Adela, which was purchased in 2020 but had not raced due to Covid, impressed both afloat and ashore, earning unanimous votes from all competing yachts and the race committee for the Spirit of the Regatta.

Additionally, the Rebecca Trophy was awarded to Namuun, a 108-foot Hoek designed sloop helmed by Tom Aiken. The trophy presentation took place on St. Patrick’s Day, with Toby Allies and Mike Carr from Pendennis Shipyard doing the honors.

The event was marked by the sad passing of Superyacht Challenge Antigua’s Co-founder Stan Pearson, whose burial at sea was accompanied by superyachts. His memorial in Nelson’s Dockyard was attended by hundreds from the sailing community, with a deep-water mark named “Stan” in his honor.

Looking ahead, Co-founder Paul Deeth has confirmed that the 14th edition of the Superyacht Challenge Antigua will take place from March 4 to 11, 2025.
