ABLP to Hold Polls Amid Voting Irregularities in All-Saints West Primary

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party will hold two polls in All-Saints West to determine the primary winner after concerns were raised about irregularities in the voting process.

Lamin Newton led with 157 votes, followed by Regis Burton with 142 and Arry Simon with 60 votes.

Burton’s letter to the ABLP highlighted voting process irregularities, including the requirement for a candidate to secure a majority to win outright, which neither Newton nor Burton achieved.

As a result, the party will conduct a poll to determine the true winner, who will serve as the caretaker for All Saints and be the party’s candidate in the next general elections.
