Antigua’s Shameka Casimir Honored Among Sagicor’s Top Regional Performers

Antigua and Barbuda’s Shameka Casimir has been recognized among Sagicor Financial’s top performers after receiving a regional award for excellence in client retention during the company’s Grand Gala and Group Awards.
Casimir was named one of five winners in the Leading Advisor or Producer – Persistency or Conservation category during the June 18 ceremony, joining Aldria Grant of Jamaica, Leila Faustin of Aruba, Debra Pierre-Daniel of Trinidad and Tobago, and Andrew Mason of Barbados. The awards recognized outstanding achievements by employees across the Sagicor Group over the past year.
The gala formed part of Sagicor’s biennial convention and also commemorated the company’s 185th anniversary, celebrated under the theme “Masterpiece: The 185th Signature Edition.” The event honored excellence across both the sales and administrative divisions of the regional financial services company.

Among the night’s other top sales award recipients, Junielle Owens of Jamaica, David Lawrence of Trinidad and Tobago, Corey Watson of Barbados and Sonika McKie of Grenada were recognized in the Leading Advisor Cases category. Lawrence and Watson each earned additional awards for First Year Commission, Annualized Premium Income and Net Annualized Premium Income, while Pius Auguste of Saint Lucia was recognized as the overall winner for the Eastern Caribbean and Belize.
The Sales Management awards recognized Jermaine Tomlinson and Loeri Robinson of Jamaica, Jhavon Felmine of Trinidad and Tobago, Daniel Lovell and Adrian King of Barbados, Ian Bourne of Jamaica and Arnold Cumberbatch. The company did not identify Cumberbatch’s country in the release.
In the administrative awards, Leeanna Joseph of Grenada received the Group Pioneer of the Year award, while Kirk Shaw of Jamaica and Safiyah Muhammad of Trinidad and Tobago shared the Group Contributor of the Year honor. Kim Beckles of Barbados was named Sagicorian Employee of the Year, and Marlene Martin of Canada received the Sagicorian Manager of the Year award.
Chief People Officer Paula Walcott said the evening’s theme reflected the achievements and lasting contributions of Sagicor employees throughout the company’s history.
“It is undeniable that our Sagicor collective masterpiece has a firm foundation; built on legacy and crafted in part by all our awardees and nominees who have been brave enough to act on a vision,” Walcott said. “Your masterpieces remind us, like those whose legacies were built in the past, that greatness is crafted with good intentions and one deliberate choice at a time.”
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Caribbean David Noel told awardees their accomplishments reflected the commitment required to excel within the organization.
“It takes commitment, dedication, hard work and constantly striving for excellence to be able to rise to the top of an organisation that has so many talented people,” Noel said. “You are truly the best of the best.”
The ceremony concluded with an LED light display, bringing to a close Sagicor’s premier employee recognition event, which celebrates outstanding contributions by team members across its regional operations.
