Community Soup Kitchen Begins Reconstruction After Months of Delays

A soup kitchen that has provided thousands of meals to vulnerable residents is preparing for a major rebuild after the removal of the container structure that previously housed its operations.
The initiative announced that reconstruction work can now begin following months of delays. Organizers said the upgraded facility will allow the programme to expand its services and accommodate more people in need of hot meals and community support.
The group thanked several sponsors for assisting with the project, including CIBC Caribbean, the Social Protection Board, Kings Antigua and 2M Heavy Enterprises.
“We’re building back bigger and better to serve even more members of our community who need a warm meal and a caring heart,” the organization said in a social media post.
The soup kitchen has become a vital source of support for many families and individuals across the community, providing meals and assistance to those facing hardship. Organizers have not yet announced a completion date for the reconstruction project.
