Kishroy Harry, the Vincentian national accused of striking cyclist Tahje Browne with a vehicle on Sir Sydney Walling Highway, has admitted to all charges connected to the incident and is awaiting sentencing.

Harry appeared in court on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without the owner’s consent, driving without a valid driver’s licence, and driving without insurance.

The charges arose from a June 20 collision near the Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board, where a Toyota Vitz struck Browne during an early morning training ride. Footage of the crash later circulated widely on social media.

Browne underwent surgery following the incident and is continuing his recovery.

Prosecutors told the court that Harry was apprehended a day after the collision while attempting to leave Antigua and Barbuda on a flight bound for St Vincent. Investigators allege that before his arrest, he disposed of the clothing he had been wearing at the time of the crash.

Harry was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison and is scheduled to return to court on July 1 for sentencing.
