Census Office Intensifies Field Operations As New Enumerators Are Deployed

The Census Office is intensifying field operations for the ongoing 2025 Population and Housing Census with the deployment of a second cohort of Census Enumerators beginning on Monday.

Residents in and around the Greenbay Primary School community can expect to see a number of Census Enumerators conducting interviews and collecting information from households and businesses starting tomorrow (Monday 15 June).

Field operations were temporarily suspended due to the recent General Elections in Antigua and Barbuda.

However, enumeration activities have since resumed, and the deployment of additional personnel marks another significant step toward completing this important national exercise.

The Population and Housing Census is a critical undertaking that provides essential data used to inform government policy, national development planning, and the allocation of resources in key sectors such as health, education, housing, employment, and infrastructure.

Accurate census information helps ensure that decisions affecting communities are based on reliable and up-to-date data.

The Census Office is encouraging all residents to cooperate with enumerators and provide accurate information.

All information collected is treated with the strictest confidence and is protected under the Statistics Act. Individual responses will not be disclosed to any unauthorized person or organization.

To assist with identification, Census Enumerators will be wearing official Census vests and carrying Census-issued photo identification cards.

They will also be equipped with a tablet, a Census bag, and an authorization letter from the Census Office.

Additionally, Census officials will be making appearances across various media houses throughout Antigua and Barbuda during the upcoming week as part of ongoing public education and sensitization efforts.

These media engagements will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the census process, ask questions, and receive updates on the progress of field operations.
