Facebook and IG are currently down for millions of users

Millions of Facebook and instagram users worldwide experienced disruptions on Friday as reports of an outage surged across multiple regions.
Outage monitoring service IsDown reported that users began reporting problems accessing Facebook, with nearly 5,000 reports logged within a 24-hour period as of Friday afternoon.
Many users said they were unexpectedly logged out of their accounts, while others encountered error messages when attempting to access pages or features on the platform.

Users quickly turned to other social media platforms to confirm the issue. Several reported being logged out without warning, while others said they initially feared their accounts had been compromised.
Some users also reported experiencing problems with Instagram, another platform owned by Meta Platforms.
One of the most common messages reported during the outage was a “query error.” The message typically appears when Facebook is unable to retrieve information from its servers, often due to a server-side issue, connectivity problem, software bug, or corrupted app data.
Technology experts note that such errors are usually temporary and can often be resolved by refreshing the page, restarting the application, clearing cached data, or waiting for service to be restored.
Meta had not publicly commented on the outage at the time of publication.
