Antiguan Carolyn Providence Earns PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University

A graduate of Miss Francis Preschool, TOR Memorial, Antigua Girls’ High School, and Antigua State College, Carolyn Providence graduated with her PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA on May 17, 2026.
A proud daughter of the soil, Dr. Providence is a descendant of the Mason family from St. John’s, the Richard family from SeaviewFarm, the Lewis family from Potters Village, and the Providence family from All Saints with lineage in St. Vincent.
Dr. Providence grew up in Sutherlands and went to the Good Shepherd Anglican Church.

Specializing in hunger and food policy, Dr. Providence will continue to work and develop food, nutrition, and public health policies for the United States of America, Antigua and Barbuda, and the Caribbean.
