Magnitude 3.7 Earthquake Recorded Northeast of Antigua

The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre reported an automatic earthquake location for a magnitude 3.7 tremor recorded at 9:05 p.m. local time on Sunday.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre at latitude 19.15N and longitude 62.91W.

According to the preliminary report, the earthquake was located about 255 kilometres northwest of St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda; 206 kilometres north of Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis; and 273 kilometres north-northwest of Brades, Montserrat.

The SRC said the location was automatically calculated by computer algorithms and remains subject to revision after review by analysts.
