St. Philip’s South MP Kiz Johnson Expands Scholarship Programme with New UWI Opportunities

St. Philip’s South MP Kiz Johnson has announced four additional scholarships for residents of the constituency to pursue 10-week certificate courses at The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.
In a social media post, Johnson said the initiative is aimed at expanding access to education and creating new opportunities for personal and professional development within the community.
“Education opens doors, and St. Philip’s South deserves access,” Johnson stated. “I’m proud to announce another four constituents have the opportunity to pursue UWI course.”

The scholarships will cover participation in certificate programmes running from July 5 to Sept. 11, 2026.
The available course offerings include Strategic Human Resource Management, Leadership with Agility and High Performance, Supervisory and Managerial Skills, Governance and Leadership in Public Sector, Property Management, AI in Job Functions and Personal Use, and Gerontological Care in a Global Environment.
According to the announcement, four residents from the constituency will receive scholarships to pursue the course of their choice. Applications are being accepted through an online form, with registration closing on June 19, 2026.
Johnson said the programme is focused on “lifting people, building capacity, and moving forward — together.”
A scholarship committee will review applications and make the final selections.
