Lovell Urges Voters to ‘Give UPP a Chance’

Harold Lovell is urging voters to remove the current administration and give the United Progressive Party an opportunity to govern, framing the upcoming election as a decisive moment for change in All Saints West.

“You have to vote these people out. Give the UPP a chance,” Lovell told supporters during a campaign rally, adding in a chant with the crowd, “We have to get rid of them.”

Lovell’s presentation combined a call for political change with a focus on long-standing issues in the constituency, particularly infrastructure and public services. He described the condition of roads in All Saints West as unacceptable, saying, “The road situation is atrocious, abominable! Horrible!”

He accused the government of attempting last-minute fixes ahead of the election, arguing that authorities were “trying to do in three weeks what they could not do in three years,” and called for a more structured approach, including proper drainage systems and a comprehensive roads and highways plan.

Healthcare access was another key concern raised, with Lovell pointing to the prolonged closure of a community clinic. “We have a clinic… closed for six months… causing great pain, suffering, inconvenience to the people of this constituency,” he said.

Beyond infrastructure, Lovell centered his message on economic opportunity, particularly for young people. He said many residents are seeking a fair chance to succeed without political interference. “All they want is an opportunity… and that’s what the United Progressive Party is all about,” he said.

He contrasted that approach with what he described as a system that fosters dependency, arguing that citizens should not have to rely on political connections to access opportunities. “You don’t have to run behind a politician… you get it because you deserve it,” Lovell said.

Framing the election as a choice between dependency and empowerment, Lovell said a UPP government would focus on improving quality of life while creating pathways for economic independence.

The general election is scheduled for April 30.
