His nephew reported a foul odor on February 20, prompting a police visit. The man lived alone and hadn’t been in contact with his nephew for over two weeks. Officers found no forced entry but an open patio door.
They discovered the man’s partially decomposed body seated in a chair, wearing a burgundy T-shirt and yellow shorts.
A local doctor, also a nephew, last saw him in September 2023, noting his health issues.
The district doctor arrived, pronounced him dead, and permitted transport to Barnes Funeral Home as requested by the family.
