The 35th Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta starts next Wednesday, April 17th, promising an unforgettable experience. The event combines sport, tradition, camaraderie, and maritime heritage. Onshore events at Nelson’s Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be complemented by racing off the island’s south coast.

This year’s regatta boasts the largest fleet of classic boats since 2014, ranging from the 177-foot Chronos and Rhea to the 29-foot Phoebe of Fowey. The oldest yacht, Galatea, dates back to 1899, while the youngest, Chloe Giselle, was built in 2014.

Other notable yachts include the 115-foot Eros, the 114-foot Saharet of Tyre, the Alvei, Nordwind, Bolero, The Blue Peter, Charm III, Adventurer, and local Carriacou sloops.

Wednesday afternoon will see a flurry of preparations in Nelson’s Dockyard before the Concours d’Elégance judging. Racing kicks off Thursday, continuing through Sunday, with a single-handed race on Monday. Winners at Monday’s awards ceremony will receive a barrel of English Harbour Rum.
