The Wild Tamarind restaurant has denied claims that recent staff changes were influenced by an outcry from kitchen employees.

The management clarified that the decision to replace the former head chef was made in November, long before reports of staff dissatisfaction surfaced in the media.

The new chef officially assumed duties on January 6, the restaurant explained, calling it a “business decision.”

Management speaking exclusively to ANR said it would not be possible to recruit a head chef so quick if in fact it was the out cry in late December that led to the change.

The restaurant is also denying media reports that the Chef was “dismissed.”

Despite the restaurant’s denial, the kitchen staff expressed relief and optimism after the departure of the former head chef, who had reportedly created a tense and demoralizing work environment.

More on the new Chef on Monday.
