WATCH: Pringle Pays Tribute to Sir Robin but Backs Alex Browne for St Philip’s North By-Election

Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle joined other opposition MPs in paying tribute to Sir Robin Yearwood on his 50th anniversary as MP for St Philip’s North, while signalling full backing for Senator Alex Browne in the upcoming by-election.
Pringle reflected on his own entry into Parliament in 2018 as the sole UPP representative, noting that although he was not yet born when Sir Robin was first elected in 1976, the veteran MP offered him informal guidance as he navigated the chamber alone. He recalled receiving advice in the hallways on parliamentary conduct, describing it as valuable tutelage during his early days in office.
He acknowledged Sir Robin’s five decades of service as a rare milestone, thanking both him and his family for the sacrifice required to sustain a life in politics for half a century, and described him as experienced and skilled.
However, Pringle added that more could have been achieved for St Philip’s North, stating that while Sir Robin could now “retire in peace,” the constituency’s future lay with Senator Alex Browne.
