VIDEO: CXC Details Reformed SBA Framework for CSEC and CAPE Subjects

The Caribbean Examinations Council has provided further details on its reformed School-Based Assessment framework for CSEC and CAPE subjects.

Under the revised system, subjects will be divided into three categories: those that will retain the SBA, those in which the SBA will be expanded as the Alternative Paper 032 is discontinued, and those that will use only the Alternative Paper 032.

CXC has published tables identifying the subjects included in each category and encouraged students, teachers and other stakeholders to consult its frequently asked questions for a detailed breakdown of the changes.

The regional examining body said the reforms form part of its commitment to ensuring its qualifications accurately reflect students’ knowledge, skills and authentic achievement while maintaining high standards of integrity and excellence.
