Urgent blood donation appeal issued for hospitalised man in Antigua

An urgent public appeal has been issued for blood donations to assist Joseph Anthony, who is currently hospitalised and in need of immediate support.

The call was made in a social media post by MP Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, who urged members of the public to come forward as soon as possible.

“Joseph Anthony is currently in the hospital and urgently needs blood. Any blood type can help — your donation could save his life,” the statement said.

Donors are being asked to visit the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre to contribute, with officials indicating that all blood types are needed.

The appeal also called for widespread community support, encouraging residents to act quickly and share the request.

“Let’s come together ASAP and support this family in their time of need,” the post added.

Health authorities routinely rely on public donations to maintain adequate blood supplies, particularly in emergency situations where immediate transfusions are required.
