Two Antiguan Chefs Featured on BBC MasterChef UK Finals Week

The Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) has congratulated Chef Eustace Cabral Jr. of Jumby Bay Island Resort and Chef Maurine Bowers of Moon Gate Antigua following their appearance on BBC MasterChef UK’s Finals Week episode.
The episode, which aired on June 3 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, showcased Antigua and Barbuda’s culinary heritage and local talent to audiences in the United Kingdom and beyond.
According to the ABHTA, Bowers guided finalists through the preparation of traditional Antiguan dishes at Nelson’s Dockyard, while Cabral challenged contestants to recreate contemporary Caribbean-inspired cuisine at the Jumby Bay Estate House.

The association noted that both chefs have supported local tourism and culinary development initiatives, serving as mentors and judges for the Taste of Wadadli Junior Chef Competition and representing Antigua and Barbuda as members of the national culinary team.
ABHTA also praised the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority for helping secure the opportunity to feature the country’s cuisine, culture and culinary talent on the internationally recognized programme.
The association described the appearance as a significant achievement for the chefs and a valuable opportunity to promote Antigua and Barbuda as a culinary destination.
