Titans End Historic 22-Match Unbeaten Run, Stay Alive with Dominant 5-2 Victory by Brent Simon

The champions finally arrived.

With their title defense hanging by a thread, the back-to-back NPPA champions, Titans, produced their finest performance of the season on Monday night, crushing the previously unbeaten Money Team 5-2 and bringing an emphatic end to one of the greatest runs in league history.

For 22 consecutive matches, Money Team had looked untouchable. Every challenge had been answered. Every obstacle had been cleared. But with elimination staring them in the face, Titans reminded everyone why they are champions, delivering a composed, clinical performance that keeps their hopes of a historic three-peat very much alive.

Money Team drew first blood through Stamma, who survived a spirited challenge from Chapo. After taking the opening rack, surrendering the second, Stamma regrouped to capture the deciding rack and hand Money Team an early 1-0 advantage.

The response from Titans was immediate.

Captain B.A.D., fully aware of what was at stake, produced a captain’s performance against Keon. Calm, confident and ruthless, he swept both racks to level the contest and inject belief into the Titans camp.

Money Team regained the lead through Navin, who proved too steady for Cueball Ricky. Although Ricky battled throughout, Navin controlled the encounter from start to finish, claiming two straight racks to restore Money Team’s advantage at 2-1.

Then came the night’s turning point.

With the scores delicately poised, birthday celebrant and Caribbean Pool Ambassador Alfonso “Scarface” Joseph of St. Kitts stepped into the arena against one of the league’s standout performers, Michael.

Michael looked sensational in the opening rack, highlighted by an astonishing long one-bank shot on the 13-ball that brought spectators to their feet. It was the kind of shot destined for highlight reels.

But it may also have awakened the champion in Scarface. 

The veteran responded with authority, raising his level dramatically to capture the next two racks and swing the momentum firmly in Titans’ favour. From that moment, the defending champions never looked back.

Peck extended the advantage with an accomplished straight-rack victory over Antonio. Displaying patience, precision and complete control, Peck gave Titans a lead they refused to surrender.

Needing just two more points, Titans turned to “My Boy,” who found himself in a tough battle with Inshan. After winning the opener, dropping the second and facing a deciding rack, My Boy delivered under pressure, securing the victory that placed Titans on the hill.

With the finish line in sight, Charbel came to the table against Hurricane Hugo.

Hugo claimed the opening rack, but Charbel refused to panic. Showing tremendous composure, he fought back to take the next two racks, sealing both the match and a memorable 5-2 triumph for Titans.

The victory does far more than keep the championship alive.

It ends Money Team’s remarkable 22-match unbeaten streak, hands them only their first defeat of the season, and completely changes the complexion of the final.

For the first time all year, Money Team looked vulnerable.

For the first time in this championship series, Titans looked like the defending champions everyone expected.

The streak is over.

The champions have awakened.

And suddenly, the race for the NPPA title has become a battle once again.
