The Rotary Club Of Antigua Installs 2024-2025 Board Of Directors During Hand-Over Ceremony

Esteemed members of the Rotary Club of Antigua were on Saturday presented with the names of the individuals who will lead the charge of decision-making for the new Rotary year 2024-2025 under the theme “The Magic of Rotary”.

The newly installed board comprises, President Mrs. Sherrie-Ann Brazier, Vice President PP. Errol Samuel, Immediate Past President Michael Spencer, President Elect Mrs. Elisa Graham, Secretary Mrs. Jo-Anne Scotland-Gilkes, Treasurer Ms. Linda Watkins, and Sergeant at Arms PP Salem Khouly.

Ms. Julie-Ann Laudat will serve as Director of Membership, PP Paul Ryan will serve as Director of Service Projects, PP Tuffida Stewart will serve as Director of Foundation and Rozanne Emanuel and Samoya Kirby will serve as Director of Youth Service and Public Image Chair respectively.

During the Hand-over ceremony held at the newly opened Royalton Chic Resort, out-going President Michael Spencer, applauded the efforts of the outgoing board and offered profound wishes of success in achievement of Rotary District and International goals for the upcoming year.

“Over the past year, we have accomplished a lot together. We have made significant strides in our community service projects, touching the lives of numerous individuals in need. Our efforts in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability have not only brought immediate relief but continues to sow the seeds for long-term positive change”, remarked President Michael.

Incoming President Mrs. Sherrie-Ann Brazier in her acceptance speech, implored fellow Rotarians, “As our 2024/25 Rotary year commences, I challenge you to embrace the magic of rotary. “The Magic of Rotary” is a theme that emphasizes the transformative power of Rotary work in communities around the world. The message behind this theme likely centers on the idea that through Rotary’s service, dedication, and collaboration, incredible things can be achieved to make the world a better place.”

President Brazier continued, “Let’s create the magic with every opportunity to engage with fellow Rotarians. Let’s create the magic with every project completed, every dollar donated, and every new member of Rotary.”

The Hand-over ceremony also saw the pinning of new rotarians, Mr. Kadesh Bailey, Mrs. Celia Samuel and the first ever corporate membership of the West Indies Oil Company Ltd, represented by CEO Mr. Gregory Georges. Mr. Teddy Damron was pinned as a returning member of the Rotary Club of Antigua.

For the upcoming year, Rotary International will be placing specific emphasis on prioritizing peace, and balancing continuity and change in action plans.

The first official club project (and premier fundraising event) to be executed under the new board is the RCA marque “Colours Fete”, to be held under the theme; “Colours of Woodstock: promoting peace, love and unity” to be held on July 20th at the Party Stand of the Sir Viv Richards Stadium at a cost of $275 EC all-inclusive.
