Terri Lyons Crowned Queen of Queens 2024 Regional Female Calypso Monarch
Terri Lyons from Trinidad and Tobago emerged victorious at the Queen of Queens Regional Female Calypso Competition, held in Montserrat, earning the coveted title and a cash prize of US$5,000 with an impressive score of 1,268 points.
Karene Asche, also hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, secured the position of first runner-up, receiving US$2,500 with 1,246 points. The second runner-up title went to Queen Independent from St. Kitts, who garnered US$1,500 with a total of 1,142 points.
Antigua and Barbuda’s representative, Queen Singing Althea, delivered a spirited performance in the competition, which brought together top female calypsonians from across the region to celebrate the vibrant art form.
This year’s competition showcased the depth of talent within the Caribbean and reaffirmed the importance of preserving and promoting calypso music as a cornerstone of regional culture.
