One year ago, the people of St. Mary’s South rejected the promises made by Gaston Browne administration. Despite hastily initiating several projects in a desperate search for votes, one year later, many of these projects remain incomplete and many promises remain unfulfilled.

The pharmacy in Johnson’s Point Clinic remains closed, limiting access to prescription drugs for some of our most vulnerable residents. We are also awaiting the full operationalization of the Bolans Police Station and the Fire Station.

Little progress has been made with the upgrade of our sporting facilities. Despite “digging up” the football field, the promised spectator stand in Bolans, has never been constructed. Similar promises made to renovate the Urlings basketball court have not materialized. Our youth have not been provided with opportunities to cultivate their sporting talents. It was all a sham. Nothing but election bluffing.

We have also seen the initiation of road works in Cades Bay, Urlings, Johnson’s Point, Ffryes, Darkwood and West Palm Beach in Bolans. However, this activity was short lived and our roads remain in a state of disrepair. While we welcome all infrastructural upgrades in our community, the work must be done professionally, and it must be completed in a timely manner.

As a community, St. Mary’s South deserves better. As tax paying citizens, we are entitled to better infrastructure and better services. Rest assured that I will be actively agitating for the proper completion of these projects.

Let’s rise up and take control of our destiny by demanding improved infrastructure and services. We must hold our government accountable for their commitments. Together, we can make a meaningful change and build a brighter future for our community!

Let’s reject Gaston Browne’s status quo. It’s time to break free from this mindset of complacency and unleash our potential for greatness.

I invite you to join me on Sunday 27th October for a Thanksgiving Service at the Bolans Wesleyan Holiness Church at 10:00am. This will be followed by a Community Social at the Johnston’s Point Community Center at 5pm. I look forward to seeing all of you as we work together for a higher standard of living in St. Mary’s South. Let’s demand better by taking action to make a lasting impact.
