The Social Protection Board, in collaboration with the Home Advancement Program for the Poor and the Indigent (HAPPI), today recognized Prime Minister the Honourable Gaston Browne for his unwavering dedication and commitment to the programme.
During a special ceremony, the Prime Minister was presented with a commemorative plaque as a token of appreciation for his steadfast support and visionary leadership in advancing housing solutions for the nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
The HAPI Program, which has become a cornerstone initiative for transforming the lives of the poor and indigent, has seen tremendous success under the guidance and backing of Prime Minister Browne.
His advocacy for expanding the program has resulted in the construction of numerous homes across the country, ensuring that more families have access to safe and comfortable living conditions.
In her remarks, Ms. Marie Baltimore, Head of the Social Protection Board, praised Prime Minister Browne for his commitment to uplifting the nation’s most disadvantaged.
“Prime Minister Browne’s support of the HAPI Program is a shining example of leadership with compassion. His dedication to improving the lives of those most in need has been instrumental in the program’s success,” she stated.
Founder of HAPPI, Mr. Veldon Raguette, also extended his gratitude to the Prime Minister, highlighting the significant impact his involvement has had on the program’s reach and sustainability.
“The Prime Minister’s vision and belief in the HAPI Program have inspired us to aim higher and do more for our communities. Today’s recognition is a small gesture to honor his immense contributions,” Mr. Raguette said.
Prime Minister Browne expressed his gratitude to the Social Protection Board and the HAPPI Program team. He reaffirmed his commitment to the initiative, emphasizing the importance of building a nation where everyone has access to basic necessities, including proper housing.
“This recognition is deeply humbling, but the true reward is seeing the smiles on the faces of those whose lives have been changed by the HAPI Program. We will continue working together to expand this initiative and ensure that no one is left behind,” he said.
The event concluded with a pledge from all stakeholders to continue their collaborative efforts in scaling up the HAPI Program, with plans to reach even more families in the coming year.
